5 Desires for My Family and Myself

1/1/2011

As we begin another new year, here is my list of 5 things I pray for in my family and myself.

1.   The Wisdom of Solomon.

The ability to discern right from wrong, the good from the bad, what is righteous and what is not and to maintain Godliness in all I do

2.   The Courage of David

To able to stand up against the giants of our day with the courage and confidence he had in knowing that God was with him in all that he did.

3.   The Strength of Samson

To be strong enough to endure the challenges of this world from day to day and to know that God is in charge of my strength and that He will strengthen me in all that I do, as long as is it is for Him

4.   The Perseverance of Paul

To be able to push through all the tough times and to not look down in defeat but to look up for encouragement.  To push others towards God, even when we have been discouraged.

5.      The Eyes of Christ

To be able to see people the way that Christ did.  To see the person who is homeless, a drug user, the non-churched and not think poorly of them but to embrace them in the love of Christ.  Not to judge people by what we see them as, but as Christ would see them.  We are all lost souls, searching for our way back to His arms.

After spending 27 years working in retail, customer service and human resources, I realized that the majority of my days were spent counseling others.  I returned to school and received my bachelors degree in Psychology/Christian Counseling and have obtained a Master's degree in Pastoral Counseling/Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor through  the  American Association of Christian Counselors and the Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors.  I am licensed as a minister of Pastoral Counseling and an ordained minister through the National Association of Christian Ministers.
